Best Tasting Coconut Oil I've Tried: Quality is A+
Nutiva's Organic coconut oil is the best I've found. I've tried several brands but nothing tastes as clean and pure as this. There is a definite undertone of coconut but I like the flavor even when frying eggs or eating it on cinnamon raisin toast. I recently had bloodwork done and my HDL (the good cholesterol) was an impressive 77---anything over 39 is considered in range; over 50 is heart protective). I attribute this great HDL number to using only coconut oil butter and olive oil in my cooking & drinking green tea.
Amazon's Subscribe & Save offer is a great deal; I really like the 2 pack of these smaller (15 oz) jars. We're a small household and I like keeping one jar sealed while using the other. Keep in mind that coconut oil is different than other oils--it is solid at temperatures under 72 so it will look something like shortening in the wintertime. Still tastes great and is wonderful to use in all kinds of cooking.
One more important detail: this is an organic COLD PRESSED coconut oil. Others may be organically grown but I've found some brands are hydrogenated to make them solid at room temperature (I won't go into all the reasons this is not a "good thing"). Suffice it to say that any coconut oil you buy should be cold pressed (and that goes for your olive oil as well). Google to find out why...

Tried it in many uses but didn't like it
I bought this olive oil since it was organic and went through 6 (750 mL) cans on a subscription but in the end I decided to stop buying it. I bought this oil to be my basic mid-priced olive oil primarily for sauteing. I like all sorts of olive oil -- from soft and buttery to peppery and green. This oil has a heavy woody scent not as fragrant as other good EVOO in this price range. Sampled uncooked the oil has mild initial taste not much olive flavor at all but not unpleasant but what I didn't like is its harsh after-taste. It was not good in salad dressings. With other flavorings the harshness is muted but still remains. In cooked dishes any olive oil flavor mostly disappears. In the same price range I've had better luck with obscure Spanish or Greek 1 L cans of EVOO from the supermarket.

Wonderful all around olive oil
I love olive oil and use it almost every day. I'm from a Greek family so I was raised with lots of olive oil. A year or so ago I got interested in tasting the various brands and types of olive oil on the market sort of like I do with wine and coffee. Anyway this was the first that I tried in that vein and it's a winner. I've tried quite a few others but for all around great taste great packaging great price and availability this is the winner. I've made everyone in my family try it! I still can't get over how well priced it is for such an excellent and well packaged product.

Delicious
I've tried two of the major coconut oil brands that I order via the internet. I've been using the oil in food and on my skin for about 5 years. I ordered this just to see how it tasted because the price was so good if it didn't taste right I'd just use it on my skin. It is the BEST tasting oil I've tried. Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Supreme pale in comparison. This is truly a coconut oil you could eat right out of the jar. If you want to try a coconut oil that tastes as good as it smells this is it. And the price is fabulous. Yea Nutiva and Amazon!

I have used this for years... WE ALL LOVE IT!!!!
This is totally the BEST as a rub or as a seasoning! Well worth it it is now so hard to find I can only find it in gourmet meat depts like fresh fairs or high end meat markets. I use it on my Standing rib roasts my whole tri tips rib eye streaks as a rub and as a seasoning for my chuck roasts and even for my stew meat.. I used to work in the MEAT DEPT for years my customers always told me how much they loved this once I MADE them try it. I used to put it on their steaks before they bought them and they always came back and bought a whole bottle. TRY IT!

LOVE this company LOVE the product
First off the company sent me a HANDWRITTEN thank you note. When do you see that in the age of computer print outs. I thought it was an extra touch as far as customer service. I will be returning to this company again.
The flavor is OMG. My best friend is Hawaii so I often use the red Hawaiian salt this BEATS its. It has a subtle but GREAT flavor. I will buy again!

This is the real deal
Be careful! After trying this wonderful blend of spices with great complexity of flavor that they say is made with 35 ingredients I found ras el hanout in my local grocery store. When I tried it alongside this one there was no comparison. Then I checked the label--the local one had only 8 ingredients! It went into the trash and another order was placed to Zamouri.
Ras el hanout can be used in a number of Moroccan dishes that are fabulous although they tend to be complex to prepare--although if you're in the mood they are worth the effort. But I also use it in tomato soup to give an amazing richness of flavor to it transforming an everyday dish to a company dish. Today I'm braising short ribs and when I've cooked down the braising liquid I'll add ras el hanout to provide a symphony of flavor to it. I haven't tried it with tomatoes and cheese on an omelet but it's the sort of thing that's likely to be fabulous. With a little experimentation you'll find your own favorite uses for it.

The Best Sea Salt I have ever tasted!
I am new to the world of gourmet salts--and this jar of flakey white granules has been in great demand in my house since we received a few weeks ago! The granules are the size of the salt on a hot pretzel--but that is where the similiarities end. The salt dissolves instantly on the tongue; it has no bitter or cloying aftertaste. The jar suggests it be used on grilled fish and salads but I would reccomend it in lieu of table salt also.

An Olive Oil with REAL flavor
This is simply the best I've tasted and worth the price. It's bold and will hold its own in salad dressings dipping oils sauteeing and for adding to just about any light recipe although I doubt I'd bury this extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) in a sauce or a hearty stew; it's too good for disguising. I don't care for subtle olive oils. This one isn't and it's become my EVOO of choice (cold-pressed). Be aware that Columela makes several different types of EVOO so this review is meant to address only this particular varietal.

Check Out Virgin Coconut Oil
The manufacture is correct. It is a terrific substitute for certain oil products for baking and some fried foods. But did you know that there is another use for Coconut Oil? It is wonderful on dry skin. I am brown skinned and spend a great deal of time out doors and in water. I have developed very dry/ashy skin. I have sent this product to to at least 8 others who have the same complaint and we all agree we no longer have this problem. Because it is not a cosmetic there is no overt Coconut smell (after smell). When first applied there is a soft oil sheen that after absorption disappears leaving a natural skin tone. No more embarrassingly ashy parts. Who would have thought?

Incredible burst of flavor ecstasy in a jar
I tried this today at a local gourmet purveyor of wild mushrooms it was in a salt shaker at the cashier. I've never tasted anything so wonderful incredible. So I bought a jar immediately. I was on my lunch hour from work and I had stopped and bought a basil fresh mozzarella and tomato sandwich would this taste good on it? Oh my goodness it certainly did. A little goes a long way but this is an incredible condiment to add to your pantry. I won't be without it if I can manage it. Don't hesitate it is worth every single cent of the price.

Excellent Product!
As someone who has been actively involved in improving my health over the past few years my research has shown the positive effects of sea and other high quality salts in a healthy diet (Suzanne Somers health experts and Doctors have written about the benefits in many of their books). I have tried many products and most are very good however I find the salts from "Salts of the 7 Seas" to be the best I have ever tried!! The quality is evident in each of the different flavors. Who knew I needed 6 different salts in my pantry? Growing up with regular table salt a gourmet salt never crossed my mind. Once I tried these products I found different uses for them on almost a daily basis with incredible results. I will continue to buy these fantastic salts for many years to come. Thank you for such an excellent product.

It's so good I don't even want to tell you because I'm afraid the price will go up (law of supply and demand)
I'm making myself tell what I would prefer to keep secret: Truly this is the best-qualitygenuine articlecold-pressed (in small quantities)olive oil made right here in the U.S.A. (California). People (including in the past myself)don't actually understand that even the olive oils imported from Italy now are sub-standard. Bariani by contrast is the nearest to what was consumed by the Greeks and Romans of long ago: simply cold-pressed in small batches no heat is used no other oils are used no other additives are used.
I'm not a gourmet instead I am a fat 51-year-old that tends to veer towards the boxed hamburger meals when desperate! This is not "snooty gourmets" liking their incidental odd-tasting items Bariani Olive Oil is truly and simply a great product and I agree with all the other reviewers: EXCELLENT.
By the way I do know the first clue that you are not buying a true olive oil is when the container is clear: true olive oil cannot be exposed to direct sunlight. Bariani uses a proper imported dark-green bottle for their very special product.
Even Olive Oil can get complicated: the majority of olive oils imported and domestic are heated not 100% olive oil and taste terrible after tasting Bariani.
I also buy through the company website and by phone and these people are so kind and upstanding -- it's family owned and they intend to keep it that way.
The only concern I have is the day will come when Bariani may have to increase their prices due to the law of supply and demand...and I would still buy it!
YES IT IS AS GOOD AS EVERYONE IS SAYING IN THEIR REVIEWS.
